Gratitude- The Key to Happiness


  You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given to you.

We all get so caught up in the cycle of life that we hardly take out the time to appreciate and be thankful for the good things in life. We get angry even from small changes in our set patterns and the one thing that we all do is Complain a lot about the bad things in life. But does Complaining take us anywhere? No, it doesn’t. One thing we all should do more is be Grateful for every little thing in our life.

There are so many small things which we take for granted such as the food we eat, the air we breathe, the house in which we live, the clothes we wear, our family, friends and loved ones, our body, all our comforts and luxuries and this list could be endless. The purpose of this blog is to make you aware of the positive changes gratitude can bring into your life.

These are some of the ways in which Being thankful can enrich your life and make you happier

  • Makes you a positive person:

A sense of well-being and happiness rises within us when we consciously count our blessings and give thanks for them. It helps us look towards life in a positive way. It boosts our confidence and helps us stay on top of our game, always.

  • Attracts happiness in your life:

Being grateful for the blessings in our life attracts more of them. Focusing on the good brings out more good things in our lives. So, just be grateful to the universe for whatever you have and wish for and you shall attract more of it in your life. It also uplifts your mood and keeps you happy, always.

  • Helps tackle difficult situations:

Gratitude is not only for good times but also for tough times. Being grateful during tough times brings peace and helps us understand that every situation in life exists to bring out the best in you. Testing times reveal our inner hero.

  • Opens up the world of infinite possibilities:

Being grateful for things we want to become or have helps to attract it into our lives easily. Just give your thanks to the universe for all you want and have faith that it or something better is coming in your life. It is a wonderful experience altogether.

It is not a tedious task at all. It can be done at any time, anywhere All you have to do is take out few minutes and sincerely think about all the blessings in your life. You can also do it as you move along with all your activities during the day. Say Thank you as many times as possible for all the little favors you get during the day. It will enrich your life and fill it with magic and lots of smiles. My way of doing it is writing down all the things I am grateful for on a piece of paper just after waking up. It helps me to start the day on a positive note and leaves me feeling more energetic.

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

An easy way to make it a part of your life is to practice it for 21 days continuously. Research says that doing a thing for more than 3 weeks continuously helps to rewire the brain to make it a habit. You can write it down but the most important thing is to feel the emotions of gratitude while you do it. An example of it could be: I am thankful for a loving family and perfect health 🙂
